Of all of the household chores, cleaning the glass shower screen is the one I despise the most. The soap scum build-up is extremely stubborn and notoriously tough to remove.
There’s an easy way to remove the grime though, and it’s using one of my all-time favourite natural products – vinegar! Those keen natural cleaners among you may already know that vinegar is a great mould remover but it’s also a whiz at removing soap scum off your shower screen.
How to Remove Soap Scum from Glass
Vinegar is the best option for your shower screen for three key reasons: it’s natural, it’s effective and it takes very little effort.
Step 1: It’s easy to do – simply fill your spray bottle with the vinegar or a mix of lemon and vinegar. The acidity of these products is what breaks down the soap scum build-up on your shower.
Step 2: Generously spray the vinegar on the shower screen. Keep in mind that you may need to reapply the vinegar after ten minutes or so as it can run down the screen. Leave it for about half an hour to soak.
Step 3: You’ll need to use a microfiber cloth to wipe/scrub the soap scum. It should come off easily enough with minimal effort. If the shower screen is quite dirty, you may need to leave it a little longer and give it a bit more of a scrub.
And the shower screen is done! There’s one less chore you need to do stress about doing and it’s a natural solution as well. That’s a definite winning combination!
